Today lets talk about illumination. Well for those guys those who do not have a clue to what this is here is a primer. Illumination is a yearly contest between different halls of IIT Kharagpur, during the festival of Diwali- the festival lights. The objective is to create figures out of diyas , but all this has a "theme". Each hall selects a theme and creates a drawings on bamboo grids and then over them diyas are set into place. On the day of Diwali each hall is judged, on the basis of this BUT with these diya's are lit, and then move on to see the rangoli (which again has a theme) . The students explain to the judges what the theme is and how each figure is related to the theme.
For those guys still don't get a clue here a picture.
Someone rightly said " A picture is worth a thousand words ".
The Scene
The scene thus created is absolutely fantastic. One need to be there to see it. Its a view no camera can capture within its photos. The hard work required to build such a grand scene are obvoiusly huge.
